Parks & Playgrounds Kids Activities Melbourne
All good playgrounds should have a cafe attached right? Well Phoenix Park combines both these loves - coffee for you, playtime for them!
This giant wooden adventure playground has a bit of everything for most ages. Whilst it might not be the most exciting park for the very small ones, they can still roam free and have a good run around as it's very spacious. Baby/toddler swings galore, an all abilities swing, slides, climbing bars, flying fox, tunnels to weave in and out of and there's some fab hidey/cubby holes dottered about. The playground is fully fenced apart from the front entrance where it's open (will never understand that one!). Shade coverage is limited too so slap on the sunscreen and bring a hat.
The Phoenix Park Skatepark is also a small skip, hop and jump away too (perfect for a scoot or board session) and there's a large grassy area perfect to kick around a football or lay out a picnic and settle in for the day.
The cafe has all your usual suspects and the service is a bit hit and miss. Still, it fulfills needs and hungry little bodies and caffeine hungry big kids! We can vouch for their coffee, cookies, kids shakes and hot chips! Seating is indoors or outdoors undercover.
The Phoenix Park precinct also features:
- Phoenix Park Community Centre
- Phoenix Park Library (currently closed until 30th January)
- Pheonix Park Childrens Hub
There's a carpark on site but there's also unrestricted free street parking and Phoenix Park is a very short drive from Chadstone Shopping Centre.
