Kid Friendly Cafes
If your family is always 'on the go' and you're always in search of a coffee (like us) and the kids want a playground break mixed with a babycino/milkshake or treat stop, we've un-covered lots of cafe spots with parks or playgrounds within reach.

Jells Park, Madeline's at Wheelers Hill
Primary at Pioneers Park Berwick
Le Chien on Gamon St in Seddon has a playground just down from it
Happy River Cafe in Footscray has a big grass area and a large stash of toys
Coopers Settlement Bundoora has a great playground and cafe. Also has a children's farm next door.
Collingwood Children's Farm and The Farm Cafe - they have a paddock you can kick a footy around in, and animals too.
Cubbyhouse Canteen, Armadale. Sweet things like tiny cupcakes, as well as healthy options. There are two small playgrounds - one for toddlers, and one for slightly older kids.
Conservatory Cafe, Wyreena
The Foyer Cafe in Wonga Park has a fenced off playground plus little bubs play areas so u can enjoy your coffee while bubs plays.
Phoenix Community Park and Cafe, Malvern East
The Boathouse, Moonee Ponds
Shillinglaw Cottage in Eltham - historic building, lovely cafe, plus a cute little garden for the kids to play in. Right across the road from Alistair Knox Park with a lake and playground too.
Urbanlife Cafe in Ringwood and Newhope Church Cafe. Both have playarea for kids!
Birdie Num Nums, North Fitzroy...sandpit toys while mum can sip lattes-awesome
Cowderoy Dairy, St Kilda West has a playground attached. Can get busy and sadly it's not fenced.
Warrandyte Playground and Bakery Cafe are right next to each other by the Yarra bridge
Priscilla Jones at Gasworks Arts Park not only family friendly but dog friendly too, there's a small (unfenced) playground close by
Red Door Corner Store, Northcote - A short stroll to Johnson or All Nations Park
La Porchetta Elwood - great location with fully fenced playground and the beach close by
Boathouse, Maribyrnong River
Penny Royal or Miss Marmalade on Union Street then walk 50m to Temple Park.
Preston West there is Jackson Dodds on Gilbert Rd with JS Grey Reserve playground diagonally across the road.
Geelong, the Beachouse Cafe at Eastern Beach is fantastic. Huge children's playground, clean toilets and change facilities, and safe childrens' swimming enclosure for the warmer months. www.easternbeachhouse.com.au
Geelong, the Barwon Edge Boathouse along the banks of the beautiful Barwon River is fabulous. Safe enclosed play area, childrens' menu, colouring competitions, fish feeding in the ornamental lakes, all adjacent to the river side walking tracks. www.barwonedge.com.au
Jellystone in Brunswick, right next to a nice playground.
Jardin Tan Royal Botanical Gardens. Kids can go nuts on the open grounds.
Little Captain, Inkerman St Kilda East, fully enclosed park next door, accessible rear cafe courtyard- best toasted mini bagels and $2 Choc Milk!!
Grants Picnic Ground. Coffee's average, but you get to go bush afterwards.
Bundoora Park. There's a cafe at the farm entry with a fantastic playground (free) or you can pay entry and visit the farm animals.
Town and Country Gardens Cafe with the newly made over playground over the road in Deepdene.
Jerry's Milkbar, Elwood
Kotch Lane on Blessington St for a takeaway then visit the fish and ducks at the St Kilda Botanic Gardens.
Glen Iris Milk Bar in Glen Iris road GLEN IRIS, it is a milk bar/cafe with good coffee and a playground and oval across the road.
Oliver's Garden in Queens Park Moonee Ponds, fantastic food and coffee with a playground right next to it. We looove the breakfast menu especially!
Foodrinkery 22 Banksia st Burwood. Excellent coffee, with a court yard out back which opens out to the neighboring playground. Love it!
