The PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport is the perfect choice for our interstate or international guest but it would also suit Victorians when you've got that dreaded early morning flight or want to experience the plane spotting package that's on offer.

They offer spacious modern family rooms with all the mod cons, internet, a swimming pool and workout room, kids meals in the restaurant and a business centre amongst many other little luxuries.

We'd only been there for 30 seconds when our children were handed a kids activity box and bottle of water. Now that's service!

After a quick and easy process at check-in we headed to our room which was spacious and had everything possibly needed for a two night stay. Our 3 year old was INSTANTLY attracted to plane spotting. Where else could you get up close and personal to an aeroplane taking off or landing? Another huge highlight was the indoor swimming pool (considering the temperature outdoors was almost 40 degrees when we visited this was a welcome relief). Across from the swimming pool are toilets, baby change facilities and a gym if you're in need of a workout.

We ate breakfast at Cafe Airo in the Hotel both mornings and pretty much anything is on offer from pancakes, almost every cereal known in the supermarket aisle, smoothies, fresh fruit and yoghurt, hot breakfasts, gluten free options, toast and spreads, pastries, fresh juices from the juice bar, coffee and more. So if you have a fussy eater you should be fine! Meal times later on were easy too. There's a kids meal on offer for only $15.00 and includes options from grilled fish, pasta bolognaise, grilled chicken and the likes with a bottle of water, piece of fruit and choice of fresh fruit salad or ice-cream.

During the day we ended up jumping in the car and heading to a friends house an easy half hour drive away. Since they were close it seemed fitting that we'd fit an 'excursion' in with our PARKROYAL stay! We can highly recommend the Woodend Children's Park. A wooden adventure playground oasis.

A few things to note about our room was the huge glass windows with fantastic views over the airport and there was absolutely NO noise to be heard whatsoever. The bathroom has a bath so good to know if you're travelling with little ones. The beds are very comfy (there's even a pillow menu), the desk is good for the kids to do colouring-in/write postcards/read a few books and there's tea/coffee making facilities and fully stocked mini bar. It was great to wake up with a newspaper hanging on the door too!

If you're a visitor coming to Melbourne from interstate or an international visiting familily to Melbourne you'll love this experience in Melbourne - the City we live and love.

Come visit Melbourne....what are you waiting for?

Our family stayed at the PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport as guests of PARKROYAL HOTELS and loved every moment. We highly recommend it to your family.
