The_Gruffalo_little_big_shots_international_kids_film_festivalOur Three Year Old is super excited about the Little Big Shots International Film Festival for Kids, okay the grown-ups here are pretty excited too, you see they are playing an adaptation of The Gruffalo - an all time favourite of ours. Australia's largest Kids Film Festival is an inspiring, meaningful and fun-filled festival and Little Big Shots features the best in local and international children's shorts, animations, documentaries and, exceptional, child-produced films.

Little Big Shots – Melbourne's International Film Festival for Kids – returns to ACMI and ArtPlay for its seventh year from June 9-13, 2011, with 80 of the world's best films for kids from 20 different countries. Perfect for kids aged 2 to 15, Little Big Shots screens a mix of short animations, documentaries and live-action films, alongside a number of free hands-on filmmaking workshops.

Little Big Shots is the perfect little outing for kids from 2 - 18 years. It offers excellent value for money with single tickets as little as $7.00. The 2011 Program kicks off from Thursday 9th June until Monday the 13th June and offers varied performances for different age groups at the ACMI CINEMAS, Australian Centre for the Moving Image and ArtPlay, Birrarung Marr.

The films on show are suitable for kids as young as two-years-old, so Little Big Shots is also an ideal introduction to cinema for the next generation of film-goers.

It's guaranteed to make your kids laugh out loud, think, create and imagine.

Another festival highlight is Splash! A Free animation workshop for children aged 5 years and up. Little Big Shots and ArtPlay have joined forces to provide a stop-motion animation workshop; children will storyboard a magical underwater scene then have the chance to 'swim' through the scene with the help of aerial photos and stop-motion animation. Drop into ArtPlay between 12.30pm and 3.30pm on Saturday June 11, Sunday June 12 and Monday June 13 to take part in this free workshop.
