Parks & Playgrounds Kids Activities Melbourne
Come and frolic and enjoy the wonder at Ripponlea House and Gardens. A garden of sweeping lawns, magnificent trees, a tranquil lake, unique
fernery, and an orchard with over one hundred varieties of heritage apples and pears and it's only 20 minutes from the CBD. Hooked?
Come and spend a morning or afternoon meandering through the mansion, relaxing with a book on the lawns, climbing the lookout tower, playing croquet on the Nursery lawn or enjoying a coffee in the Gatehouse Tea Room. There's even a special dedicated area for children - the Rippon Lea Children's Garden is an open space for play with a sandpitclimbing frame (in a huge turtle shell!) and stepping stones and windy paths to zoom in and out of.
The Gatehouse Tea Room is a lovely spot to visit for sandwiches, refreshments, coffee and treats. Open daily.
If you're looking for a fabulous spot to picnic, this is it! There's a hive of activity happening from Guided tours, Nature walks, Gardens of special interest, Gift shop, Picnic areas, Functions & Education services, Wedding receptions, annual events and photo locations.
