Parks & Playgrounds Kids Activities Melbourne
Little pegs will love this skatepark to do their thing.
The skatepark consists of a 3-4ft mini bowl (very open with varying heights and banks), a central funbox with down rail and grind bar and a grass patch to the side.
Because this park is so very awesome you always have to expect a crowd here – and it attracts everyone from scooter kids, to BMX’ers to inline skaters. But it's always a good session and the park has such a great setup that there is something for everyone – from the noobs and hardcore.
Come away from the mini bowl and there's stuff for the much older crowd. A skatepark doesn't need much introduction. But this one does suit the younger crowd as the older 'kids' tend to stay at their patch and let the youngsters get on with it. To the side of the 'juniors' area, there's covered seating for Mum and Dad to look on.
The park itself is a mighty good half day out. With a running/dog/bike track around most of the park, a lake to wonder round, cricket pitch, grassy greens to run amok on, skatepark and a wooden adventure playground, it's a fab place to discover and unwind. We often load up the car with bikes, skateboard, picnic and a kite.
The adventure playground is quite vast with lots going on. There's monkey bars, slides, climbing frame, sandpit, swings and all based around a wooden construction. It's fenced too so you don't have to worry about runaways!
The park also plays hosts to the Elsternwick Park Tennis Centre (anyone fancy a holiday class), Elsternwick Park Bowling Club, Elsternwick Cricket Club and the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA).
