Movies & Cinema Kids Activities Melbourne
On a hot day you and the Family can head inside for some air-conditioned entertainment.
Sweet relief for you, and a fun outing for the kids. And did we mention the price?
The wait is over, the iconic Astor Theatre re-opened today. The Astor theatre is a Melbourne cinema institution and we're so lucky to still have this beauty standing in Melbourne today. There's nothing like watching a film here, the charming surrounds, the art deco decor and its iconic status make this theatre an afternoon/morning delight for any movie goer.
Whether you're seeing a silent classic, a double feature from Hollywood's Golden era or even a contemporary movie, the atmosphere is priceless. And there's kids films on. Occassionally The Astor puts on kids films including a sing-a-long Frozen coming up soon and The Minions.
Little Big Shots is Australia's major annual and traveling kid's film festival featuring a handpicked selection of the best short films from around the world. Made for kids, and sometimes even by kids, this year's program is packed with award winning films.
This year's program features over 70 films from 22 countries including Finland, Russia, Chile, Ireland, Croatia, Canada, and of course Australia. The festival is excited to include 18 World Premieres and 36 Australian premieres as well as presenting an Oscar winning short film.
Check out our Spit the Dummy sessions for parents with babies & toddlers. Crying, kicking, screaming and breastfeeding is welcome, and the lights will remain dimmed throughout the film so that you can keep an eye on the kids.
Spit the Dummy sessions run every Wednesday between 10am and 12 pm, please check the website for exact session times.
