CERES (Centre for Education & Research in Environmental Strategies) Community Environment Park is an award winning, not-for-profit, environment and education centre and urban farm located by the Merri Creek in East Brunswick, Melbourne.
Built on a decommissioned municipal tip that was once a landfill and wasteland, today CERES is a thriving, kid-friendly, vibrant community.

Here you can chill out at the pond, look for tadpoles, explore the how electricity is made and water is pumped with wind power, watch the chooks and wonder through the orchards and gardens. A great way to spend and afternoon!

So much happens at CERES. Throughout the year CERES is a hive of activity and many events and celebrations take place on a regular basis. However there are two events that are hold every year that capture our essence – The Autumn Harvest Festival and the Return of the Sacred Kingfisher Festival.

To Market.... The CERES Market and Shop play a vital role in the local food network. Each week, in all weather, they sell the best local organic produce harvested from their own market gardens and other small sustainable growers from around Melbourne. The shop stocks a wide variety of organic, biodynamic and fair trade groceries and offers customers the opportunity to buy in bulk to help reduce wasteful packaging.

Opening Hours of the Market: Monday - Friday 9 am - 4 pm and Weekends 9 am - 2 pm

The Cafe.... Escape the fast lane and wind down at this kid friendly, bohemian and earthy retreat. Meri Meri is a very relaxed eating experience. Choose to sit at tables nestled between tea trees or under the café’s marquee and covered veranda. There's even a sandpit for the kids to play in.
