City Sights Kids Activities Melbourne
If you've ever wanted to peer into the world of Government House then the open day held on Australia Day allows visitors to do just this.
Visitors are invited to tour the main House, including the Governor's Private Apartments, and view the historical collection, including antiques from the Johnston Collection and artwork from the National Gallery of Victoria.
If you're feeling peckish there's lots on offer including delicious baked goods from the Country Women's Association, which will occupy the original 19th Century kitchen, whilst the Hopetoun Stables will house former Melbourne Cup champion racehorses from Living Legends.
There's always plenty on offer for the kids too - Hot Shot tennis rounds, an animal farm, sports and activities dotted around the grounds.
To gain entry there's a line-up to view inside the Government House (often long) but you're welcome to skip this queue if you're not wanting to view inside Government House.
