City Sights Kids Activities Melbourne
The City is In, always IN!
The City comes up trumps time and time again with its Museums, aquarium, galleries, Southbank, Docklands, Fed Square, laneways and a playground (yes - a City playground)!
And when school comes to an end, the days warm up (or cool even), the city comes to life for Melbourne Kids. Lets not forget Christmas Celebrations - it's quite possibly the most magical time to enjoy the City.
We've rounded up highlights from the top venues for kids culture in Melbourne. Have fun getting out and about with the Family.
Melbourne's Moomba Festival is held every March and has become an iconic annual landmark for Melbourne. Admission is free and attendance is huge to this colourful, lively and crazy Melbourne extravaganza!
There are parades, rides, fireworks, live-music, food trucks, the birdman rally, kids zone (including Ashton's Circus), bands and skate park.
This has long been the Little Melbourne crew go-to Australia Day hangout. A great day out for all the family members with a little bit of everything to keep the whole crew happy!
Offering a range of free family focussed activities, displays from a range of community groups, a showcase of vintage and classic cars, a feast of foodie trucks and coffee stops, it's a nice way to spend a laid-back day out with the family. The classic cars lined up along Kings Domain are a real show-stopper as is the impressive Royal Australian Air Force Roulettes flyover at 12.30pm.
ARBORIA, a giant, blow-up labyrinth of winding tunnels and soaring domes, is coming to Fed Square in January as part of their exciting Summer program. Inspired by the shapes, form and colours of the forest, ARBORIA is an interactive art experience that appeals to the aural and visual senses. ARBORIA will fill the length of the undulating Square, from Saturday 6 January to Sunday 28 January, open from 10am -8pm daily as it uses the sun’s rays to light its magical halls of wonder.
