** Update this cafe used to be called Birdie Num Nums and is now The Butchers Den **

The front of the cafe is warm and welcoming, wooden floors, vintage bric-a-brac strewn about but head out back into the huge courtyard and you'll soon see why it's hugely popular with families!

The few times we've visited, mainly to catch up with good friends, the place has been swarming with kids (and rightly so!).

This family-friendly eatery is located in a heritage-listed building that was once a 19th-century old butcher shop, converted into a cafe. This cafe is the community-focused haven of North Carlton. It offers a relaxed, fun, friendly and family orientated meeting point for all walks of life.

There's a sandpit and toys for the kids out the back and the meals are homely, the babycinos are flowing and the vibe is relaxed.

A great place to visit after a trip to the Melbourne Museum and the IMAX theatre......both of which are only minutes away!
