Goldfields
Take a walk on the wild side and get up close with the animals. The park is open to visitors, and is especially welcoming to families and flocks of tourists who want a more 'personal' encounter. Spend a leisurely morning or afternoon at your own pace.
On entry pick up a bag of kangaroo feed for $3.00 so you can wander and feed the kangaroos at your own pace. Watch your little ones as the kangaroos have free run here (saying that we've never had any issues)! You'll spot lots of wildlife from emus, koalas, wombats, lizards and a large reptile house. Another highlight here are the keeper talks. Filled with history, facts and in most cases...pats! The animal shows are offered at various times throughout the day (weekends included) and have everything on show from crocodiles, reptiles, koala, wombat or eagle.
Ballarat Wildlife Park is set on 16 acres of woodland so wear your walking shoes! Paths are good and although a little 'hilly' in parts it's pretty easy to manoever a pram around.
When you're done on your 'wildlife exploration' it's time to re-fuel. There's a licenced cafe with the usual cafe fare located close to the entrance.
Now it’s your turn to channel your Dr. Dolittle mama and papa and take the kids to see the animals!
