Enjoy a gentle introduction (with kids in tow) to the Dandenong Ranges on this peaceful walk to Sherbrooke Falls, and find a new favourite escape for walks and picnics. Start at the beginning of the track near the main entrance on Sherbrooke Road, and wind past rough and smooth tree ferns and towering ash.
While you take in the stunning views, the kids will no doubt find all the muddy crevices that you avoid and they might just spot a lyrebird.
The Sherbrooke Picnic ground is accessible via Sherbrooke Road which is off the Mount Dandenong Tourist Road, just south of Sassafras. The walk should take about an hour (give or take with kids)!
- if it's been raining in the area pack gumboots, they're going to get muddy
- pack snacks!
- no toilets
- the walk isn't pram friendly
